Kishore Kumar (4 August 1929 – 13 October 1987; born Abhas Kumar Ganguly) was an Indian playback singer, actor, music director, lyricist, writer, director, producer and screenwriter. He is considered as one of the most popular singers of Indian film industry and from soft numbers to peppy tracks to romantic moods, Kumar sang in different genres but some of his rare compositions which were considered classics were lost in time. According to Ashok Kumar, Kumar's success lies in the fact that his voice used to hit the microphone straight at its most sensitive point.

Apart from Hindi, he sang in many Indian languages including Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Urdu. He has also sung in private albums in several languages especially in Bengali. He won 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards in that category. He was awarded the "Lata Mangeshkar Award" by the Madhya Pradesh government in the year 1985–86. In the year 1997, the Madhya Pradesh Government initiated an award called the "Kishore Kumar Award" as a contribution to Hindi cinema. Recently, Kishore Kumar's unreleased last song was sold for Rs 1560,000 (1.56 million) at the Osian's Cinefan Auction, New Delhi in 2012.

The song "Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi" of this movie became an evergreen hit.

Lyrics:
My love a calamity will occur
today love will be dishonored in your lanes
my eyes lament (upon this)
my love, even your heart will complain about you
my love..

i visit your lanes,beloved
i sing the song of faithfulness, beloved
you cannot bear to listen to it
then again here today this madman(mad in love) has came to say
this terror will end today
today love will be dishonored in your lanes
my love..

may you cry like me
you should also love someone
and he should be ignorant towards you
my beloved, you should not forget the tyranny you showered upon me

there would be no mercy upon your soul
today love will be dishonored in your lanes
my love..

My love a calamity will occur
today love will be dishonored in your lanes
your name would be uttered by the lips
when soul will leave this failed (failed in love) heart
my love..

from the gate of my love,
breeezing wind if you happen to pass from there
let me know their whereabouts
i uttered your name untill i lived, oh candle your moth
till now who you would hate
today love will be dishonored in your lanes
my love..

Tabla for Two
Playing for Peace

Tabla for Two was formed in 2012 when Abigail Adams Greenway and Masood Omari met in the Zamani House of Heritage, an Afghan textile showroom in Washington, DC. They formed a musical partnership after Abigail studied tabla with Masood. She totally immersed herself in her tabla studies to the extent that she left aside her career as a visual artist. Later she learned to play the harmonium as a natural development of her classical Indian music studies. Inspired by someone who could keep the beat to accompany his musical travels, Masood began composing new music for two tabla players, particularly including one (Abigail) playing the three daya. Utilizing the classical structure, Masood has written modern tabla compositions that are mesmerizing. Tabla For Two represents the best in East-West cooperation.
