Here’s some important info for NDIS participants about eligibility reassessments.

As a part of the new legislation, the NDIA can review your access to the NDIS. If there’s evidence suggesting you might not meet the requirements such as residency, the early intervention pathway, or the criteria for a disability, the NDIS will reach out to you.

So...here’s the process:
You’ll be informed that your eligibility is being reassessed and which specific requirements of your access are under review.

They’ll tell you what information they need from you. You’ll have 28 days to provide it, and you can ask for an extension if needed.

A different staff member will review your case than your usual planner or LAC, ensuring a fair assessment.

If you still meet the criteria, you’ll remain a participant and keep your supports. If not, you’ll receive written notice about the decision.

If you disagree with the decision, reach out to your planner or local area coordinator for guidance.

You can request an internal review within three months of the decision.
