Plaster Wall Restoration: Removing Layers of Paint and Texture

Описание к видео Plaster Wall Restoration: Removing Layers of Paint and Texture

In this video I show how to use a heat gun and a paint tool to remove several layers of paint (including a skim coat of drywall in the middle of all the paint layers) from a plaster wall in a home from 1931. Once I started stripping the wall, I uncovered the original plaster pattern, which was pretty cool. My plan is to go down to the original paint layer to reveal the texture, and then paint the wall one time to get a nice clean coat and restore the original texture/design on the wall.

Plaster walls are works of art that deserve to be restored when possible. Please use caution and follow all safety guidelines when working with tools and old materials. I should have worn a respirator in this video to protect myself from paint dust.
