I'm Stephanie Nelson founder of CouponMom.com and today I'm going to show you how to save money at Rite Aid, using all of their savings programs and how to get free deals. I'll explain the programs and then I'll show you some examples of what I got this week. First, Rite Aid has a weekly sales ad. Every week they introduce all kinds of new promotions and deals. When we detail those on the CouponMom site, those prices change on Sunday. Secondly, Rite Aid has a program called Wellness+ Rewards. You want to be sure to get their Wellness+ Rewards card which will give you the sale prices and it'll also give you rewards points towards additional discounts.

When you accumulate points, you'll end up getting a standard discount across all products for a full year. When you hit 250 points you'll be at the Bronze level and you'll get a 10% discount on all Rite Aid brand products for a full year. When you hit 500 points you'll be at the Silver level and you'll get a 10% discount on almost all store products for a full year. When you hit 1000 points you'll be at the Gold level and you'll get a 20% discount on all store products for a full year.

Now you might be saying $1000 is a lot of money to spend at Rite Aid. However, keep in mind that your prescription spending will count towards that total. It's the full value of the prescription not just your co-pay. If you have a prescription that would ordinarily cost $150, even though your co-pay is only $20, that 150 will be credited towards your total $1000 spending goal. It might make sense to switch prescriptions so that you can accumulate and get to that goal faster to save 20% on everything for the rest of the year. Importantly, that's before coupons so you can really save with more deals.

Now, Rite Aid has a very generous coupon policy. They do accept manufacturer's coupons even though they don't double them. They have their own store coupons. You can find them in the weekly ad every week. You can also print store coupons from RiteAid.com from a program called Video Values. You watch a short product video and you get to print the store coupon. Again, you can combine those with manufacturer's coupons on the same item to save even more.

Rite Aid has "Buy One, Get One Free" deals. However, keep in mind you can only use one coupon on a "Buy One, Get One Free" deal. But you can use two coupons on a "Buy one, Get One 50% Off Deal." When you know those, you can maximize your coupons and get better deals. Rite Aid has an automatic rebate program called the +UP Rewards. When you buy a participating item, you will get a +UP Reward put into your Wellness+ Rewards program and then you can redeem that after 6 AM the following day.

This is not a coupon that prints that you can use immediately after for your next order. It's a value that's put into your account that will expire in two weeks so you need to remember that it's there. A common promotion at Rite Aid are items that are free after +UP rewards. For example this week I got these hair accessories. The regular price was $1.99. I paid $1.99 each at the register but then $1.99 went into my +UP account which I can redeem tomorrow for the next two weeks. Now read the fine print because the offer said limit 2 which meant I could get 2 so I got 2 and I got about $4 put into my account to use on my next visit.

Now a great example of combining all of Rite Aid's deals on one product is this TRESemme deal I got this week. It's on sale for 3.50 each. I have a manufacturer's coupon for $3 off two and also a Video Value store coupon for a dollar. I'll get both of these at the register for $3 but I'll also get a $2 +UP reward put into my account so my net cost for both of these will be $1.50 each. That's an 89% savings.
