Today we're going to be taking a look at this solution that Rhino-Rack is offering as for adapting our Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars onto the RLCP Fixed Mounting Location Foot Pack. The part number is RRVA-FK2. Now don't worry the track-mounted guide is out there, whether it's the RLTP or the RLTF Foot Pack, we also have an adapter available for you. That part number is RRVA-FK1, it's going to go on exactly the same way. What this is designed to do is adapt your current RLCP Foot Pack over to accept the Vortex Aero Crossbars. Currently if we put them on there, there's a large gap that's created here.

To use our adapter, we're going to remove our original mounts, which will be a both lock washer washer and the threaded block, and we can set this aside. We're now going to bring in our bolt, small lock washer. These are going to go right through the bronze or the brass-looking piece. As you can see, that bolt is going to stick right up through that original part. We'll now bring our spacer in. Slide that right on down in there.

As you can see it makes a good, nice fit and then we'll thread the threaded block onto the end of our bolt. Now it's just a matter of just like we used to do with the old hardware there. We're just going to take the end cap off. We'll slide this on in. In this case, our customer had their bars marked here where it should be when it fits their vehicle, so just get it back to their mark and we're going to tighten down our bolt here. All we need is a 10 millimeter socket to complete this change.

Let's get it snug up there. We'll replace our cap on the end, and now let's show you how that looks. As you can see the gaps completely filled in and the adapter eliminated all the wobble or movement or shake that we used to have when we tried to put these Vortex Aero Bars onto the RLCP Foot Pack. Now it's just a matter of just like we used to, we're going to place it up into its location here. We bring our original hardware, put it in, thread that down and I'm going to do the exact same thing here on the other side just to get it started.

Make sure my threads are going to line up and everything, and then I'll give this one just a couple of turn to hold its position, and then I'll come back over here and show you what I was doing. Make sure we just turn our hex head there and it is a security style, so it's got that small tab sticks up in the middle and without the appropriate Allen tool you can't remove it, so nice safety feature built in there. You can see that it goes a little tough to get in there and get to that bolt. It's something that doesn't require a whole lot of attention. You see we got that side mounted in there nicely and back over to this side to finish tightening it up. Really easy change to make, this will allow us to get the square bars off, get our Vortex Aero Bars on there to help reduce that wind noise and drag and other things that are associated with the square bar. That will complete today's look of the Rhino-Rack Spacer Blocks for the Vortex Aero Roof Rack System. For the Fixed Mounting Locations, we'll use part number RRVA-FK2 and for the Track Mounts, we'll use part number RRVA-FK1. .
