FOUR TIPS ON HIBISCUS TREE CARE
I have been struggling with this hibiscus for few years but finally got it to grow full of blossoms. It's very simple. Before winter, I prune all the branches and they regrow in the spring. if we have winter nights below 35 F, I do bring the pot indoors just overnight. I'm in Arizona, so I hardly ever have to do that. But, the leaves do start to wilt if it gets too cold.
As far as fertilizing the hibiscus tree, I stop using any fertilizers and just add back to the pot all leaves and blossoms that fall around the pot.
During the hot Arizona summer days, I do pull the pot underneath the patio because the sun is too intense and burns the flowers.
I do water it every couple of days - if you overwater it, the leaves will turn yellow and if it gets too dry, the flower buds will start falling off.
