Описание к видео SVYM Annual Highlights 2023-24 | 41st Foundation Day

The Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement celebrates its 40th Anniversary on the 1st of December 2024 at its tribal school, Viveka Tribal Centre for Learning at Hosahalli, in H D Kote. Holding a significant milestone in SVYM’s four decade journey, SVYM employees, well wishers and partners from different parts of the state will gather at the tribal school to celebrate the foundation day, symbolically coming full circle to one of the places where the development organisation took its roots to sprout and grow pan Karnataka.
Turning 41, the organisation is serving communities reaching the furthest corners of Karnataka, be it the aspirational district of Raichur up north, geographically demanding and inaccessible Kodagu in the west, Chamarajanagar down south and drought prone Kolar towards the east. In many regions implementing a comprehensive development model involving Health, Education, Socio-economic Empowerment and Climate Action, focusing on building the Human and Social Capital of the communities towards community centred development. A total of 40+ Programs are being currently undertaken by SVYM across Karnataka in partnership with140 Corporate and Private partners, UN and multilateral agencies, Central and State Govt, NGOs and academic partners and support of over 1500 Individual wellwishers.

Many pilot development initiatives that were started decades ago in response to the development needs of our Nation, now also find their due place in Govt. policies and schemes. SVYM’s flagship HIV Program is one of the largest by any NGO in India contributing greatly to the elimination of HIV in the state. SVYM’s Palliative Care Program has expanded in a unique partnership model with the Govt and Academic Institutions in 5 locations in Karnataka responding to increasing need of palliative care services. SVYM’s Education sector is working with Govt Schools across the state, alongside its contribution to the drafting of the education policy. The first NGO run Sainik School and the only one in Mysuru District, Viveka School of Excellence - A Sainik School is a concrete step towards building the future leaders of our Nation.

The collective human potential of SVYM, consisting of 900+ employees, represented fairly by both genders (46% females), the Youth Movement lives up to its name with a mean age of employees in early 30s. Our volunteers further redefine the norms of what comprises youth, from being young college students experiencing the empowering fulfilment of serving others to doctors in their early 80s volunteering at our Palliative Care Centre. It is this robust and dynamic mix of self motivated individuals that fuel SVYM’s inexhaustible spirit in responding to Swami Vivekananda’s clarion call - To arise, awake and stop not until the goal is reached.

We ascribe SVYM’s foundational core values of Satya (Truthfulness), Ahimsa (Non violence), Seva (Service) and Tyaga (Sacrifice) to have served as the fertile soil for the new leadership and new ideologies to grow and evolve while staying contextually relevant and qualify for a lossless transition of principles, integrity, conviction and our vision from one generation to another towards building an equitable society free of deprivation and strife.

SVYM finds its purpose in becoming a platform where individuals can come and share their abilities in serving others, in discovering there is personal gain in public service.

On our 40th anniversary, the entire SVYM family thanks all its partners and well wishers and reiterates its commitment to building a resurgent India.
