Frontrunner Zack Polanski, who was the deputy Green leader and a member of the London Assembly, won 20,411 votes, compared to 3,705 votes for his rival candidates.

Left-wing firebrand Zack Polanski has been unveiled as the new leader of the Green Party - and said he hopes to win at least 30 seats at the next general election.

In a landslide victory, frontrunner Mr Polanski, who was the deputy Green leader and a member of the London Assembly, won 20,411 votes, compared to 3,705 votes for his rival candidates Adrian Ramsay - the current co-leader - and Ellie Chowns who ran on a joint ticket.
