Not since steam days has 'Royal Scot' traversed the notorious Shap Bank and in today's video we would see the LMS Scot Class lay siege to the 1/75 climb to Shap. In recent week's steam has struggled a touch up towards Shap with bad coal and wet conditions, but not today ! We capture the Scot twice at Scout Green & Shap Wells with driver Gordon Hodgson making all the right noise.

The return leg over the Cumbrian Coast would see us head over St Bees, where the Scot makes a spirited departure from the coastal village as it heads south towards Sellafield. The final scene is taken at Arnside, unfortunately the engine is seen coasting over the viaduct, though it did open up towards the station as it closes in on it's journey end. We was glad to have made the long journey and we was well rewarded for our trip with the highlight of the day being the run up Shap.

I hope you enjoy the video
