Meet Shauna Rowe, RDN
Our guest speaker, Shauna Rowe, is a registered dietitian nutritionist. Her Jamaican heritage and her mother's passion for cooking sparked her love for nutrition. With a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Studies from Howard University, Shauna has dedicated her career to empowering women, birthing people, and their support circles through informed nutritional choices. We’re grateful to have her with us today.

Shauna is the founder of Dixon Dietetics, LLC, named in honor of her late mother, Joyce Dixon—who lovingly nurtured mothers and babies in her home daycare. Shauna's mission aligns beautifully with FOZA's commitment to maternal mental wellness, making her insights invaluable to our birthing community and those of us caring for them.

FOZA wants to help stop the suicides, the stigma, the silence, and the suffering associated with PPD. We support the children whose parent(s) died due to a depression related illness. FOZA Finds resources according to zip codes to support postpartum moms and FOZA invites professionals with resources and desire to communicate to join our cause.

FOZA began in 2018 when Christina LaShawn Thompson-Adams died from suicide related to Postpartum Depression. Christina left behind a one-month old son and "Auggie the FOZA Bear" was created as a comfort and a way to cope with the grief.
