Описание к видео Robert E. Lee's Daughter Buried in My Families' Burial Ground.

Funny thing happened when I asked myself the question, "Who was my Grandfather?" I found a Davis family website that traced my ancestors way, way back. Having the good luck to be directly descended from Alexander Spotswood, royal governor of Virginia, I found many famous people, kings and so forth, on my family tree. Robert E. Lee was also a descendent of Alexander Spotswood so his ancestry and mine are the same before the time of John Spotswood and Mary Dandridge.
This video talks about a time during the Civil War when our families came together. Annie Carter Lee came to stay at White Sulfur Springs, a kind of spa or hotel located in Warren County, North Carolina. This establishment was owned by my great-grandmother's family and had been in operation for many years. In 1862 my great-grandmother was 18 years old and Annie Carter was 23. Since they were both in the same community at the time, they likely were acquainted. When Annie Carter Lee died October 20, 1862 she was buried in the Jones' family cemetery. My great-grand father, Col. William Smith Davis, also lived in the community and Elizabeth and he were married there in 1863.
