Making a Leather Bench Strop

Описание к видео Making a Leather Bench Strop

A good leather strop is very useful for touching up and finishing the bevels on all your woodworking hand tools and edged implements. One of the primary task of stropping is to remove the burr that is created when sharpening. In this video i am making a leather bench strop from a piece of birch and some vegetable tanned leather.

The chisel in the video was sharpened on a Japanese Naniwa 1000/3000 stone prior to stropping. I am a believer in Paul Sellers method of sharpening, using the bodys natural path of movement to give the edge a "macro camber" (slight convex).
