DECLUTTERING - Feng Shui Masterclass # 11 - your monthly Feng Shui Tips

Welcome to my 11th Academy of Making Sense - Feng Shui Masterclass (October 2019)

One correction to start with, the next New Moon is on Monday, not on Sunday (I had a short look into the calendar and because it is a public holiday I was led to believe it is Sunday)

Today we are exactly in between the moons.
Last week we had the Full Moon, which is all about letting go, forgiving, freeing yourself from past patterns …
And next week we will have a New Moon, which is all about new beginnings, refreshing your dreams and desires, starting a new project, reflecting back on old goals and setting new ones.
And since we are exactly in between those two, I thought a declutter session would work perfectly into this. You can now reflect on these things and bring them into action, and therefore be prepared for the new beginnings next Monday.

In our Feng Shui Masterclass #11 we are covering:

There are various methods of decluttering.
🌺
Marie Diamond with her 5 bags:
Throw away: Broken, Garbage;
Give away: to an op shop or another charity;
Gifts: for Friends & Family,
Sell it: on TradeMe or eBay;
Keep it: which will probably be 75%

Then we have the Marie Kondo Method, where you are tidying up all at once, your whole space in one go, and ask yourself whether it sparks joy in you or not, tidy by category, not location,

My personal favourite is the 3 Box method, I think I adopted it from Karen Kingston in her space-clearing book years ago. One box for definitely keeping, one box to definitely give away, one box for maybe give away/don't know yet. The last box gets a date on it and goes into the cellar or attic or garage, whatever you use as storage. When you do the next declutter (most likely 6 months later) everything that is still in there becomes the box to definitely give away.
I am not sure if that was originally exactly like that, but this is how I use it. Or used to use it when we were still living somewhere … ;-)

Then we look into where and how to possibly start and which areas are prone to declutter more.

Also always bear in mind that decluttering is always to do with shifting energy. Let go of what does not serve you anymore will set free a lot of energy for you to use, it is actually liberating. And also what does not serve you anymore, may serve other people ... maybe even a lot ... so here is another energy exchange possible.
