Advancing Research By Enhancing Two-Way Communications Between Patients & Researchers

Описание к видео Advancing Research By Enhancing Two-Way Communications Between Patients & Researchers

In the process of clinical trial participation, patients typically have limited access to the lead researchers who design, steer, and oversee trial implementation and analysis.

Solve wants to change that because we believe in the power of patient inclusion to improve recruitment, quality, human-subject safety, and therefore the eventual success of any clinical trials. In this webinar on patient-researcher dialogues, Solve connects patients and researchers to see and hear each other as fellow humans and citizens who both desire to advance medicine through research.

In this webinar, panelists share that the preliminary data acquired by Vanderbilt University Medical Center researchers suggest that an existing drug (Guanfacine) might be repurposed to selectively improve fatigue (PROMIS) and PEM in a subset of ME/CFS patients who experience abnormal blood pressures (hyperadrenergic phenotype). The researchers are proposing a controlled clinical trial to verify Guanfacine’s efficacy.
