A major twist in the Sabarimala gold theft case as the Crime Branch’s special investigation team arrests former temple executive officer D Sudheesh Kumar. He is accused of aiding former administrative officer Murari Babu, the second accused in the case.
The SIT alleges Sudheesh concealed that the dwarapalaka idols and door frames were gold-plated, falsely recording them as copper sheets to enable the fraud. The gold-clad sheets were later handed over to main accused Unnikrishnan Potti under Sudheesh’s recommendation to the Devaswom Board.
