An oasis in the desert, Tempe Town Lake is one of the top tourist destinations in Arizona. In 2010, the 1-billion-gallon lake was drained when its rubber bladder dam failed. This time-lapse video shows the new dam’s construction progress from June 2014 to April 2016, designed by Gannett Fleming. When the dam is completed in early 2016, it will feature one of the largest steel gate systems of its kind in the world.
