Balls - Fight For My Country

Balls was ex-Move guitarist/bassist Trevor Burton's attempt at forming a Birmingham supergroup. Initially formed as a line up of Burton, Steve Gibbons on guitar (Uglys), Keith Smart on drums, Dave Morgan on bass and Richard Tandy on keyboards, the band picked up manager Tony Secunda and Denny Laine before immediately splintering and reforming with Burton, Laine, ex-Plastic Ono Band drummer Alan White and vocalist Jackie Lomax. Lomax was replaced by a returning Gibbons and ex-Spooky Tooth drummer Mike Kellie replaced White before the group finally collapsed.

Although the group suffered a hazy shifting line up and unclear direction, they thankfully managed to get one single released, even after the group had already broken up: Burton's blistering anti-war anthem "Fight For My Country" that kicks off and Does Not let up until the very end. "Behemoth" doesn't even begin to describe it. Released on Wizard Records in 1971, the lineup is believed to be Burton, Gibbons, Laine & White.
