Katz Maihi – The Language Of Carving

For nearly a thousand years, Maori have used stories, songs, and art to pass on knowledge and preserve cultural traditions and tribal history. Toi Maori - or traditional Maori art – is a fundamental part of New Zealand life. The unique designs and patterns are rich in symbolism and are used to tell the story of the foiling waka (boat) in the 36th America's Cup opening titles.

The 36th America's Cup presented by Prada will be contested by the winner of the 2017 America's Cup, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron represented by their team, Emirates Team New Zealand, and the winner of the Prada Cup, the challenger selection series which takes place in January–February in 2021.
