This video is the first in a 4-part series following the progress of a fine wool damask scarf from inspiration to finished object, woven on a Glimakra/Myrehed combination drawloom. This installment covers designing the piece (including the strategy for configuring the pattern shafts and single-unit drawcords) as well as winding and beaming the warp onto the loom.

Correction: the inspirational carpet fragment is not on display at the Met in NYC - it is, in fact, housed in the collections at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This is the sort of confusion that happens when you (meaning I) are/am exposed to too much culture in one week.
