Mercedes Benz Original Becker Stereo Radio Fix on R129 and Others

The Becker 1432 radio was used in many R129s, W140s, and W124s as original audio equipment. In this video I diagnose and fix my car stereo's intermittent bass problems.

This video is directly applicable all 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993 R129s (including the 500SL and the 300SL), but is also helpful to all other R129s and W140 and W124 chassis, including the models 300\400 SEL, 500 SEC and E300.

The Becker 1432 is a head unit that requires a working main amplifier and a bass amplifier. This video shows how to remove the stereo and the location of the amplifiers and other fixes.

I use a small FM Bluetooth transmitter that I connect to the cigarette lighter. From it, I can access music (stream or stored) from my mobile/cell phone and play it over the car’s speakers. I find it works well. I should have mentioned it in the video.

The car shown is a 1992 Mercedes Benz 300SL (R129).
