The bugs that are important for the functioning of your bioactive enclosure and that can be purchased from The Insectory are: Springtail Starter Cultures and Isopod starter cultures (Grey. P. Scaber), you can use all the species of isopods in your enclosure if you wish.

When it comes to making the soil, here's a rough guide of the ratios of each product:
3 parts of the Small animal bedding
3 parts Gardens Basics all purpose potting mix
2 parts Peat moss
1.5-2 parts Coir-peat brick
2 parts sphagnum moss (you can also put a thick layer of damp spagnum on top of soil around the base of the plants).
1 part Charcoal (more concentrated towards the bottom of the soil)
