Catching the bus from Colombo to Matara | Sri Lanka

Hi travellers,
In this video I show the bus and tuk tuk trip from Colombo to Mirissa.

Firstly, I asked at the capsule hotel how I should travel to Mirissa and they suggested walking to the bus terminal. It took a bit of asking upon arrival at the bus terminal to find the right bus. There is also a cheaper, non-air con option bus.

The bus was pretty squished. And they play music the whole trip.

On arrival at Matara bus terminal, it is possible to find another bus to take to Mirissa, or wherever else you are travelling to.

However, I was over being squished and slept on at that point and found a tuk tuk to take me the rest of the way, and directly to the guest house.

Yes, I would take the bus again. It was easy to do, and I am travelling solo. Do not be afraid to ask for directions.

Tips:
Make sure you bring headphones and water
You may want to bring snacks
Wear comfortable clothes
