Following protests over the Sanjauli mosque issue, Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that there is usually a culture of brotherhood in the state and the environment is very cordial.

Speaking to News18 India at the 'Chaupal' conclave, Sukhu said the construction began during Jairam Thakur’s tenure. “This is the first time that people from the Muslim community went to the corporation and said that wherever there is something illegal, we will demolish it ourselves,” he said.
