Acer Aspire 7741G disassemble and change thermal paste

- Needed tools:
1 small phillips screwdriver
1 small flat screwdriver
Technical Alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or acetone (for cleaning old thermal paste)
New thermal paste (i used: Artic MX-4)

Steps:
- Remove the battery
- Remove the back cover of RAM / HDD (4 philips screws)
- Remove all screws from the back (3 are after the back cover of RAM - 2 long M8, one short for HDD)
- Remove the short screws from battery location (they are small and number of 6)
- Flip the laptop then and gently, with the flat screw driver or a hard small plastic tool loose the clips that holds the keyboard
- After the keyboard you will find 5-6 more screws
- Remove then all the cables connection and you can take apart the front cover and the motherboard is revealed
- You can now remove the DVD rom - in my case i have a HDD caddy
- Remove the monitor cable from left corner and also a small cable near the monitor cable
- Remove the right top small screw from the mother board and also the USB expension cable

You can lift the mother freely now.

- Unscrew the 6 screws from the cooler and reveal the CPU and GPU (ATI Radeon in my case)
- clean with caution the CPU and GPU with Technical Alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or acetone
- Clear with caution the Cooler pads Technical Alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or acetone
- Apply on CPU and GPU, in the middle, a small ammount of thermal paste and then put back the cooler and screw back in the oder from written on the pad the screws.

- Mount everything back in reverse order.
