Berlin - Rangsdorf Airport

Описание к видео Berlin - Rangsdorf Airport

Rangsdorf Airport was built in 1935 and later used by the Soviet Union 1945-1994. It is located south of Berlin close to Wünsdorf and Zossen.

This is the Airport where Claus Philipp Maria Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg (a.k.a Stauffenberg) took off in order to carry out the assassination of Adolf Hitler on 20 July 1944. Elli Beinhorn and Ernst Udet are also known flying people tied to this place.

During the period when the Soviet Union used of the airfield both repairs and tests were carried out here. Later it was used as a scrap yard for russian aircrafts such as MiG-27, Mi-24 (Hind) and even missile wrecks.

This is probably a light version of Urban Exploration and the airfield is pretty easy to access.
