In this video, Sarina demonstrates how to begin a Phrancko sweater. A Phrancko sweater is a construction technique for knitting top-down, seamless sweaters with perfect bell-shaped set in sleeve caps. This technique will give you a sweater which fits beautifully.
For the Fall 2023 KAL with KnitWiz you'll have a choice of knitting either "The Cloisters Pullover" or "Shadow Play Cardigan". Both are made using the Phrancko technique.
The Cloisters Pullover features an asymmetric ribbing which flows into lace inserts at the lower arm and below the waist. Arranmore Light, from the Fibre Co was chosen for it's softness and subtle tweed texture.
Shadow Play Cardigan uses a vertical stranded intarsia technique to create shadowy striping. The bodice is fitted while the body of the sweater flares in an A-line due to yoke-style increases in the stitch pattern.
All are welcome to join the Fall KAL. The kickoff meeting is September 11th, at 4:00 pm Eastern. Yes, there are prizes :).
