1. The Fibonacci sequence
If you start with the numbers 0 and 1, and add each new number to the one before it, you get a list that looks like this:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, 1597, 2584, 4181, 6765, 10946, 17711, 28657, 46368, 75025, 121393, 196418, 317811… and it goes on forever.
This might look like a random list of numbers, but it’s not. This sequence appears everywhere in nature, and it happens so unexpectedly, and so often that there’s even a scientific journal dedicated to studying it.
2. The Golden Ratio
If you divide nearly any Fibonacci number by the one before it in the sequence, you get a number that approaches 1.618033988… and it goes on forever. The Ancient Greeks called this number “Phi” but it’s more widely known as the “Golden Ratio.” And much like the Fibonacci Sequence, the Golden Ratio also appears everywhere all around us.
3. Fractals
Mathematician Benoit Mandlebrot came up with a simple equation. If you follow his formula, it can produce beautiful images where you can zoom into any small part of the image and find that it resembles the whole. Much like the Fibonacci Sequence, and the Golden Ratio, we also see Fractals everywhere and all around us. Let's explore numerology and science.
