Wonjong Lee, who won a special award at the Spain Francesc Viñas International Singing Contest, drew the world's attention at the age of 20 with the title "The Youngest Korean Award" and was recognized as a young tenor to lead the next generation.

As a South Korean, he studied at the Korea National University of Arts, one of top Korea's art schools, and received a bachelor's degree and master's degree from the MUK School of Music and Art in Vienna. Then he completed Conductor Marco Valderi's master course in Gubio, Italy.

His talent and endeavour were proven with numerous prizes, including his stunning first prizes at the Spain Francesc Viñas International Singing Contest, Romania international festival and voice competition first prize "Hercle Darcle"; (2012), Ferruccio Tagliavini International Gesangswettbewerb 2nd(2015), Young Tenor Award first prize of Slovak National Theater(2016), Korea National Opera Competitions 2nd.

Wonjong Lee made his debut at the Kazakhstan Almaty Theater as Rodolfo in La Bohème(2012). And he successfully completed his debut in Korea with the opera "Radames" by Aida, which was performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Verdi.
His repertoire includes Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Tamino (Die Zauberflote), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Alfredo (La Traviata), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Gabriel von Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Tito (La Clemenza di Tito), Tom (The Rake's Progress).
In addition, he appeared in Opera Der Mann von fünfzig Jahren, based on Wolfgang von Goethe's novel, Opera Faust with a world-famous director John Dew.

Lee has been playing actively on the European stage as a Plauen-Zwickau theater singer since the 2018 season, is also considered a talented young tenor on the European stage, performing at Opera Eugen Onegin, Die Königskinder, Lustige Witwe, Aida, Don Giovanni, Das Land des Lüchelns, Der Zarewitsch.
Especially at the 6th Tandern Summer Concert in Nürnberg, it was applauded by the audience and was reported in the newspaper as "kräftigem Tenor".
