We had the CIF State D1-AA Regional Playoff game — winner goes to STATE — as Cathedral Catholic and Los Alamitos squared off in a cold December showdown built for tough-nosed football!!!

Both teams came in scorching hot. Cathedral Catholic, led by superstar Honor Fa’alave, was riding major momentum after their dramatic comeback win over Carlsbad in the CIFSD D1 Championship. Los Al, powered by Lenny Ibarra and a dominant performance over San Clemente, came in locked in and ready for war.

The first half was a grind. Both teams were trading blows, battling in the trenches, and making every yard earned. It was tough, physical, playoff football — exactly what December is all about.

But in the second half, the Dons opened things up. Quarterback Brady Palmer started dealing, and wide receiver number 4 Isaac Cook went absolutely nuclear — making huge plays downfield and torching the Griffins defense.

Once Cathedral Catholic found their rhythm through the air, the Griffins couldn’t contain the offensive onslaught. The Dons were too balanced, too explosive, and too locked in when it mattered most.
