Awakening - Origin to add Melee tag for certain links.
Links - Quick Attack or Focused Strike (if nearing atk spd cap), Grand Approach, Fighting Spirit, Concentrated Area Dmg (max dmg) or Area Effect (better farm), Convert Lightning DMG, Spell Activation on Attack.

THORN EXPLOSION (Activated):
Awakening - Source for big dmg amp.
Links - Strike, Mana Storm, Concentrated Area DMG, Convert Lightning Dmg, Element Dmg Amp, Spell Activation on Attack.

RELEASE ELEMENT (Atk Enhance)
TENACIOUS REGENERATION (Def Enhance)
PENETRATING SLASH (Movement)
ROLL (Optional Movement)
SEAL OF CRITICAL CHANCE (Atk Seal)
Defense Seal is optional

Intelligence - Min needed to get to 200 or higher if Release Element requirement is higher
Dexterity - Min needed to get to 200 (for 40% damage Zodiac trait in VII-Maggot)
Strength - Dump rest of stats here

SPECIALIZATION 1 - Brilliance - Get Acceleration, Get 6% Strike Dmg amp, Get 8% mana dampening
SPECIALIZATION 2 - Vacuum - Get 15% Ele DMG amp, Get Sharpness, get area dmg amp
SPECIALIZATION 3 - Pirate - get 15% Ele Dmg Amp, Get 10% Add Cold Dmg, Get status effect rate/duration ( for more consistent shock and chill)

2 hand weapon (damage), 1 hand & shield (defense).

Armor considerations:
Prefer armor only until armor cap (75%). Once armor cap is reached work in dodge gear.

Gear stats to look for:
weapon: atk dmg, spd, lightning dmg, lightning dmg %, atk dmg %, crit rate, crit dmg
helmet: hp%, hp, resists
chest: hp%, hp, phys dmg taken (-%), resists
gloves: hp, atk spd, crit dmg, crit rate, resists
feet: move spd, area dmg, projectile dmg, hp, resists
amulet: hp, hp%, lightning dmg, ele dmg%, resists
belt: hp, hp%, mana pot effect, mana pot cd recovery, resists
rings: atk spd, hp, ele dmg or area dmg, crit dmg, crit rate, resists
