Relive the national webinar held on 28 October 2025 and organised by UNESCO in the framework of the NBSINFRA project!

The event explored how Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are being adopted in Portugal to enhance urban resilience and deliver wider social and environmental co-benefits. It brought together representatives from the European Commission, the Portuguese Civil Protection Authority, academic experts and local municipalities to discuss opportunities and challenges in mainstreaming NBS into national and local policies.

The event focused on how Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are being implemented across Ireland to make cities more resilient, sustainable and liveable. It explored both the policy landscape and practical experiences at the local level, shedding light on how NBS can reinforce critical infrastructure, reduce disaster risk and deliver environmental and social benefits.

#NBSINFRA (Citynature-based Solutions Integration to Local Urban Infrastructure Protection for a Climate Resilient Society) is a project funded by the European Union, supporting the enhancement of local urban critical infrastructure protection against natural and manmade hazards through the co-design and co-creation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for a climate-resilient society.
