This sweet potato casserole is a must-make Thanksgiving side dish. Fluffy and whipped spiced sweet potatoes are topped with the most delicious nutty pecan crumble.

It’s packed with so much flavor and texture that you certainly won’t miss any marshmallow topping! In fact, I’ve never been a huge fan of the traditional marshmallow-topped casserole (that’s overly sweet), so I always opt for this version that’s naturally sweetened with dates, vanilla, and cinnamon (that’s perfectly sweet). 00:28 Peel, cut, and dice the sweet potatoes.
01:42 Boil the sweet potatoes until fork tender.
01:58 Chop the pecans, pepitas, and dates for the topping.
02:52 Mix the chopped nuts with almond flour and melted butter.
03:11 Drain the sweet potatoes, then mash or whip up with milk, butter, and spices.
04:20 Spread the sweet potato in a casserole dish, sprinkle the topping, then bake.
