Abronia Lizard facts: aka arboreal alligator lizards | Animal Fact Files

Abronia lizards are also known as arboreal alligator lizards. They're named alligator lizards because they're said to look like alligators with their large scales. They're called arboreal because they spend most of their time in trees. There are other alligator lizards not classified in the Abronia genus, though the genus itself boasts somewhere around twenty species. The most well known arboreal alligator lizards are the species that come in bright greens and blues and are often seen on the pet market. These lizards also come in shades of brown and grey.

Diet: mostly insects
Lifespan: up to 10 years
