At the Brink: The Dire State of Our Ocean's Health

Major studies, including those by the Pew Commission and the U.S. Ocean Commission, have revealed that our oceans are facing a critical crisis, primarily due to overfishing, pollution, habitat destruction, and the effects of climate change. These factors have compromised the natural resilience of marine ecosystems, putting us on a path that could lead to the collapse of wild fish stocks by 2048 if current practices continue.

In 2003, the Pew Oceans Commission released a report "America’s Living Oceans" (https://www.pewtrusts.org/~/media/ass...) that outlined 4 major areas of concern. The report concluded that the health of the world’s oceans are in crisis from overfishing, pollution, climate change and destruction of native habitat.
