Data, La Forge, and Riker are in the ready room as Data explains to Captain Picard that a second transporter signal appears to have been operating during the accident, and that the ambassador was beamed off the Enterprise pad. Worf informs Picard that the Romulan ship is still in the Neutral Zone, on its way home. Picard calls the ship to red alert and orders the Enterprise to intercept the Devoras.
