ON THIS PART:
There is a hidden item on the Cut Bush near the Old Man.
Head to Route 23 to battle your Rival the 2nd time.
Go back to Viridian City, then head to Viridian Forest through Route 2.
There are hidden items on Viridian City: First is at the tree near the entrance, and second at the tile left of the last Trainer.
Be ready for Pokémon Trainer battles, most being Bug types.

EVENTS OFF-SCREEN:
Traded my party Pokémon on my past Yellow save file for a quick Stat EXP (EV) boost using the Vitamins.
Caught all Pokémon species on Route 1 and Route 23's vicinity.
Farmed for levels at Route 1.
