On May 19, 2024, the results were announced for all 61 skills to identify the final competitors to participate in the WorldSkills 2024 competition. Remarkably, BIT students won 15 awards in 9 skill categories. Mr Bhavanishankar N, Mr Jayasurya K S, and Ms Srilekha V won the gold medal for Concrete Construction Work (Team Skill) and Textile Weaving - Handloom. Mr Abishek K, Mr Gokulnath G, Mr Surenthiran M , and Ms Menaja N B won silver medals for Chemical Laboratory Technology, Woven Fabric Design Development, Plastering and Drywall Systems, and Textile Weaving - Handloom. Mr Kishorekarthi E and Mr Rithick M K won bronze prizes for AR/VR and Woven Fabric Design Development. Mr Harisujan N K , Mr Dinesh A , Mr Cibi Vishnu A C , Mr Abishek K, Ms Sri Dharshini G , and Ms Sabreen S won the Medallion of Excellence for Automobile Technology, Bricklaying, Industry 4.0 (Team Skill), Woven Fabric Design Development, and AR/VR. 18 students received participation certificates for Auto Body Repair, Cabinetmaking, Chemical Laboratory Technology, Logistics & Freight Forwarding, Textile Weaving - Handloom, Woven Fabric Design Development, Logistics & Freight Forwarding, Drone Filmmaking, and AR/VR. BIT represented 50% of the gold, silver, 22% of the bronze, and 35% of the Medallion of Excellence awards across Tamil Nadu. Finally, BIT represented 37.5% of achievers across Tamil Nadu.
