Motion Of a Projectile

Q. Prove that the least speed with which a particle
must be projected so as to pass through Points P
and Q at heights Hp and Hq respectively is given by,
V°min = √g ( Hp+ Hq + PQ).


Q5. An aeroplane is flying with constant speed V° and at constant
height h.Show that if a gun is fired point blank at the aeroplane after
it has passed directly over the gun when it's angle of elevation as seen
from the gun is alpha,the shell will hit the aeroplane.

Q8. Determine the maximum possible range
for a projectile fried from a canon having
muzzle Velocity V°.Prove that the height
reached in this case is V°²/4g.


Q10. A canon has its maximum Range R.Prove that
(a) Height reached is 1/4 R.
(b) the time of flight is √2R/g
