On Aug 9, 2020, Singapore marked 55 years of independence with a scaled-down National Day Parade, dedicated to frontline workers on the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The parade segment of NDP 2020 took place at the Padang and featured a 'Roar of unity' flypast by F-15SG fighter planes and a mobile column which went through the heartlands.
