Photo 101: Abstract Photography

Описание к видео Photo 101: Abstract Photography

For most of us, we usually think of photography as the best way to record the world around us. From cherished family snapshots on vacation to greeting-card ready photos of our four-legged friends, the camera does a great job capturing a moment in time. But is that all photography can do? Well, not quite. While the aim of early photographers was often to refine the medium to record the world in increasing detail, others acknowledged that there's more to photography than replicating reality as we know it. As the artist Laszlo Moholy-Nagy once wrote, “the camera should be liberated from its role of recording the natural world in order to create abstract pictures of light and form”.
