Hi, I'm Dr. Don James, but the odds are, I've been around a long time, you may already know that. I just wanted to mention that I've been on the medical staff at the hospital for 47 years. During that time I've been in a leadership position, I've also had the pleasure of knowing Francine Merenghi, who we're going to be talking about for at least 30 years.

I've had a chance to work with her a long time ago and most recently with her on the hospital board currently. When I came to Rolla and joined the medical staff, it was literally a little country hospital, often referred to as a band-aid station. We were pretty low, in as far as the medical expertise. We had a surgeon and we had a few things -- I was the first internist.

During that time though, over 47 years, the hospital has grown and developed with good leadership and good board members and good planning and being really visionary. And today we're actually a big city hospital in the country.

So I wanted to talk to you about Francine and her being on the hospital board. She currently is on the hospital board and an outstanding leader, but what a lot of people don't know is that she has a wealth of experience. She has an MBA, and most of the focus has been on hospital care and hospital provisions. She's been a consultant around the country working in big systems and little systems, enhancing their development.

I always say that if you're going to be on the hospital board or if you're going to be a physician, you need to do it for the right reason. And I'm really proud to tell you that Francine is on the hospital for the right reason, no agendas, no special issues, but to see the hospital grow and develop. She is a true visionary. She is a strong leader and she brings to Phelps County Regional Medical Center, now Phelps Health, she has some really outstanding and visionary plans for moving forward. Francine has excellent experience as a national consultant that we're fortunate to have here in Rolla, Missouri. She's an outstanding person of high integrity with strong leadership skills.

I can certainly recommend to you and hope that your vote will be for Francine.
