The HORRIFIC Execution Of Jane Boleyn - Anne Boleyn's Sister In Law

Описание к видео The HORRIFIC Execution Of Jane Boleyn - Anne Boleyn's Sister In Law

During the Tudor period, Henry VIII executed around 70,000 people but very few were allowed a private execution within the walls of the Tower of London. One such woman who was granted this was Jane Boleyn, Viscountess Rochford. She was a woman who married into the Boleyn family, being married to Anne Boleyn's younger brother George. Their marriage was not a happy one, and when George Boleyn was executed on Tower Hill, some historians have claimed that Jane his wife may have even testified against her husband, securing his execution.

But Jane Boleyn was a scheming woman, and when the King married his fifth wife Catherine Howard, she helped the teenage Queen have an affair with Henry VIII's close friend Thomas Culpepper. She organised for the pair to be left alone, and when information came out that the Queen was cheating on the King, Henry VIII ordered his wife's execution and also Jane Boleyn's. Jane was executed minutes after the Queen was by axe on Tower Green, and was forced to kneel in the blood of the Queen before the executioner did his job.
