UPDATE: Since recording the difference in the green plastic of the alien figures shown has been explained (darker plastic: Operation Moon Base, lighter plastic: Giant Martian Landing) and they are not breakfast cereal premiums like the blue guy. The two figures on their way to the aid station are also meant to be paired like that: The injured guy does not have a base because it would interfere with the base of the guy helping him. Am contemplating acquiring a batch of replacement helmets for all of the space suited figures but they don't come cheap and other priorities await attention.

Adding a second ”Rex Mars" female to the bridge crew and sadly have to deprive a veteran crewman of his helmet to make sure she is good to go; Girls always get preferential treatment on my ship. We also take a look at the other standard size production female space figures I've latched onto and there aren't that many! Unless you look overseas like our Kindergal or go for larger figures i.e. the Archer and Ajax females, the pickings are slim. Even Comansi's excellent spacewomen are more in the 70mm range. Aside from the lovely Dr. Chandra Lakes from Tim Mee's "Galaxy Laser Team" or the Britains Deetail Stargard & Raider females there really weren't all that many in the standard "Army Man" 50mm range produced, which is shameful once you think about it. Even MPC's Venus from their "Fireball XL-5" is a rarity and those Gemodels figures don't grow on trees. There's even genuine debate as to whether they are actually female forms with my call being on them representing our better half.

My project calls for a mixed gender universe, with capable female crewmembers serving alongside their male counterparts. And someone to haul to safety, or to haul hapless crewmen to safety themselves, or just put our heroic Space Rangers in their place when needed with female practicality. Pulp science fiction themes relied upon the presence of females, who usually could get by in just a bubble helmet over a space bikini while the guys needed armored space suits. Talk about female empowerment!
