Introduction to Nature Aquarium , Expert Interview with Dr Unnikrishnan, Thirth Aquatics Kochi.

Dr Unnikrishnan, joined Oriental Aquarium Pte Ltd, Singapore in 1993 after finishing my Ph.D. program in Plant tissue Culture as a research scientist in order to refine the cultivation practices for aquarium plants by introducing modern agricultural practices such as Hydroponics, Plant Tissue Culture. During my association with Singapore firm, I got the opportunity to get acquainted with the stalwarts in planted aquarium field, Mr Windelov, the Founder Director of Tropica, Late Mr. Thakashi Amano of ADA , etc.

After serving for more than a decade moved back to India and joined as Project Head for the aquatic plant production unit, a Joint Venture between Sri Bhagyalakshmi Enterprises, Bangalore, and Still Water Aquatics, Bangalore. My association with them realized the production of Tissue Cultured Aquatic Plants in India for the first time, now the plants being sold all over the world under the ADA brand. During this period, I served as an international judge for well recognized International Aquatic Plant Layout Contest (IAPLC), an annual contest organized by ADA Japan.

Now developing a gallery on a partnership basis in Kerala, under the name THIRT AQUATICS located in Kochi with the objective of popularizing the hobby of AQUASCAPING in a professional way through educating the hobbyists by foreseeing the commercial potential.

This is first of many, in the Nature Aquarium information and educational series done in collaboration with Thirth Aquatics Kochi.
