The Last Months of Amtrak's Capitol Limited - Washington DC to Chicago in Coach

Описание к видео The Last Months of Amtrak's Capitol Limited - Washington DC to Chicago in Coach

This is a westbound profile of one of the last runs of Amtrak's Capitol Limited train from Washington DC to Chicago. The route is set to be combined with the Silver Star due to track work in NYC. What does that have to do with this route & why can't Superliners be utilized here? There are oddly complex answers and much speculation for this, one of Amtrak's shortest long distance routes.
What's certain is this is an occasionally scenic and very concise service for Amtrak, these days. Gone are a great deal of perks that used to justify the trip aboard this train with its historic namesake. This video centers on the Capitol Limited as it has been operated by Amtrak in this region over the past 45 years. Much could be said, enough for an entire separate video, about the old Baltimore & Ohip namesake of this route & others that served the region at large. But for today, we're just taking in one more trip aboard the modern Capitol Limited to see how its experience has become & guess about its future in Amtrak's network down the line.
