Everyone wants to know the latest SEO tactic or technique to get to the top of page 1 on Google. And there are plenty of SEO companies who will help you do that - the WRONG way. They use black hat SEO techniques such as keyword-stuffing and getting inbound links to their website through dodgy tactics.

But what most people don't realise is that Google aren't stupid. They can see what has been happening and they have begun to stamp out this behaviour through Google Penguin and Google Panda updates.

These updates have begun to penalise websites that use these bad SEO techniques and have pushed them very far down the SERPs (search engine page results).

The biggest trend for SEO in 2013 is to ensure that you do organic SEO. That is SEO that is done to please your CUSTOMERS, not the search engines.

Google wants users to have the best customer experience on a website. Who wouldn't?! so Google's algorithms now consider your website's usability, customer experience, is it easy to navigate? etc.

The best thing you can do this year from an SEO perspective is to create great content that solves your customer's problems and needs. Optimise it properly and organically and you'll see a rise in your search engine rankings.
