Embark on a journey of culinary discovery at Stok Palace, where Ladakh's rich culture and heritage come to life amidst the breathtaking Himalayan backdrop. This former royal residence, now a heritage hotel, offers a serene ambiance amidst the majestic Himalayas.

Our journey began in Leh, where we first visited the iconic Shanti Stupa, a symbol of peace and tranquility overlooking the picturesque cityscape.

On reaching Stok Palace we were warmly welcomed by the gracious Rinchen Dolma. She led us through the grand corridors of the former royal abode. As we followed her, every step seemed to echo with the whispers of history.

Upon reaching the kitchen, we were introduced to the talented cook, Tsering, whose expertise in Ladakhi cuisine promised an unforgettable dining experience. With great care, she prepared a soulful spread of traditional dishes, each infused with the essence of Ladakh's culinary heritage. From the hearty warmth of gur gur cha to the comforting flavors of namthuk and gyathuk, every dish was a tribute to the region's diverse culinary traditions.

As we gathered for the meal, Rinchen regaled us with fascinating tales and insights into the significance of each dish.

Apart from the delicious food, the palpable sense of warmth and hospitality that enveloped us throughout our time at Stok Palace is something we greatly cherish. The stories and interaction left us a profound appreciation for the heritage and hospitality that define this enchanting region, carrying with us the spirit of Ladakh wherever we go.
