3 Ways to CUT HOLES in Objects in Blender

Описание к видео 3 Ways to CUT HOLES in Objects in Blender

In today’s video, we’re going to talk about 3 different ways to cut holes in objects inside of Blender!

Cutting holes in obejcts in Blender can get a bit tricky, but these 3 methods will help you quickly cut openings in objects in Blender.
Method 1 – Circular Hole in Flat Object – with this method we’re going to cut a hole in a flat plane, then extrude it with the solidify modifier.
Cutting Circular Hole in Flat Object Steps –
Create Plane
Rotate Plane
Subdivide Plane x 2 (right click, subdivide)
Select Center Vertex, Delete
Select edge loop – Alt+Shift+S makes object into a sphere
Extrude with Solidify – add subsurf to show result, then remove, apply solidify, add edge loops
Add subsurface modifier

Method 2 – Bridge Edge Loops – This method will use the bridge edge loops tool to quickly add a hole in a cube.
Bridge Edge Loops Method steps –
Add Cube
Edit Mode
Select 2 faces
Inset (“I” key)
Select the 2 inner faces
F3 to search for “bridge edge loops”
Click on “bridge edge loops”
Method 3 – Boolean Modifier – The Boolean modifier lets you use the intersection between objects to add, subtract, or modify material. While this is the easiest way to cut holes, just remember that it doesn’t always create the cleanest topology
Boolean Modifier Steps –
Add UV Sphere
Add Cylinder, Resize/position cylinder
Add the Boolean modifier to the sphere
Set the Boolean Modifier to “subtract”
Select the cylinder inside the Boolean modifier toolbar
