Teardown and repair of blown snow blower engine after it was run with no oil. I'll show you how to save money swapping out the crankshaft from your old engine into a brand new engine. Using a replacement engine, I was able to repair this engine for $430 vs $1500 for a new engine from Ariens. The deciding factor on doing this repair is whether you can reuse the original crankshaft from the blown engine. If you can't, you can purchase a new crankshaft for $175 and still limit your repair cost to ~$600. No special tools are required but you will need to be fairly experienced with small engine repair to perform the swap.
