"I had a good friend of mine in North Alabama. His name is Edgar Clayton and Edgar Clayton, he knows a lot of material cross each artist desk all the time. It's either sent in or handed to them by publishers or writers and he always kept an ear out for me. Good songs and things that he liked and this is a song that he just loved and so he sent me a tape of “When The Snow Is On The Roses” and I never will forget calling him back. I said I love that song. I can't wait to get into the studio and he said well I'm so glad cause he said that is just a favorite of mine and he said I just knew that you'd like it. So I went in, I don't think it was a week later. I mean I really wanted to get into the studio to do that one."
